Quinta do Monte Travesso

Tinto 2019

The Quinta do Monte Travasso estate has belonged to the Nápoles de Carvalho family for 5 generations. More precisely, since the Casa do Douro (Douro House) founder, the current owners’ great-great-great grandfather gifted this beautiful estate to his daughter – Margarida do Carmo – as a wedding gift.

The estate is in the Tabuaço region, one of the most tradition-filled regions of the Douro Valley. The vineyard spreads out over 16 hectares, heavy with stories and memories.

It is believed to exist since the end of the 19th century and was bought by Artur de Magalhães Pinto in the early 20th century.

The estate is fully dedicated to wine and another heavenly nectar abundantly produced in Portugal. We’re referring to olive oil, of course.

Nowadays, the Nápoles family continues to oversee the estate’s destiny, olive oil and wine.

Bernardo is the producer.

José, the father, is the owner and divides company administration with his son.

Ana manages all operations.

A family business, like so many others in Portugal, whose mission is to showcase the best the Douro produces and show it off to Portugal and the world.

Adding to this, they possess a characteristic that seems to enchant everyone who comes into contact with them: a degree of friendliness and kindness that knows no limits.

In a world living through such difficult times, it’s normal that this trait, which at first glance may seem banal, becomes one of the aspects that most people highlight when they visit the farm and meet the Naples de Carvalho family.

The wine you see in this bottle was bottled in May of 2020 and is distributed among 6666 bottles. And this one is yours!

After you taste it, you’ll be able to feel its strength and elegance, especially if you pair it with the recipe Chef Chakall has prepared for it.

Now, go and have fun.

Cheers from your friends at Wome.
