Ahh, the Douro, the Douro.

Speaking of the Douro is synonymous with talking about wine.
Good wine.
Incredible wine.
Dreamy wines and wines that make you dream.

That’s just how the Douro is. A force of nature that man dared try tame.

The most significant victory is, without a doubt, the conquering of the terrain and the capacity to, on those disgracefully steep slopes, be able to produce the best wine the world has at its disposal.

And the world, on its knees and curved, surrenders to the Douro just like a broken army surrenders after defeat.

The 130 hectares of the Quinta Maria Izabel estate treat the wine with reverence, wisdom and contemplation.

Perhaps this is why they produce such an incredible, flavoursome, soft wine that transpires Douro in each sip you take.

This bottle will surprise and entice you. It really will.

Be it through its deep ruby-violet colour, the aromas of berries so typical of the region, or the sensation it gives you when you raise the glass to your mouth, which we will refrain from sharing here so as not to spoil the experience for you.

Produced from Tinta Roriz-Cruz, Tinto Cão and Touriga Nacional from the north-west and west facing vineyards located at Cruz, Fonte do Toiro and Carrascal.

Winemaking Process
The harvest took place at the beginning of September. The harvested grapes rested for 24 hours in a refrigerated container at 8°C to protect the integrity of the bunches. After belt selection, 30% destemmed and 70% whole bunches were introduced into the vat, allowing for smoother colour and aroma compound extraction during the 3 weeks of alcoholic fermentation which occurred in stainless-steel vats. The malolactic fermentation was also completed in stainless-steel vats. This process was followed by half ageing in used French oak barrels – 4-year-old 400 litre barrels and 225 litre barrels, where it remained for 12 months.

Tasting Notes
Wine with a deep ruby-violet colour, rockrose aromas involved by notes of forest fruits in a typical Douro set. Very seductive on the palate, with some rusticity conferred by the grape stemms, combined with a more intense minerality resulting in a modern, long, fine and vibrant profile.
