Quinta do Serrado Encruzado
10.50 €
What’s most surprising about this wine is that you can immediately tell it’s from the Dão region. Adding to that, the presence of the oak from the barrels is noticeable and gives it a very interesting flavour.
We are, of course, biased – because, as you can tell, we really enjoy Dão wines – but this region is coming out with so much excellent produce that we lack words to speak of it all.
This wine has travelled from Penalva do Castelo to be in your hands.
The Quinta do Serrado is one of the estates with the most history in this demarcated region, but it only started showing itself to the world at the beginning of the 1980s.
Harvesting is done manually, as good old tradition demands.
This single-variety wine is perfect for accompanying the starters for a weekend lunch, fish or seafood dishes, and soft, creamy cheeses.
It has that straw-yellow colour that almost hypnotises you. The fresh fruit touch is just mesmerising for the senses.
We might be getting a bit carried away now… but it’s hard not to, believe us. Despite this, we’ll understand if you decide you want to store this wine for a while.
The producer asked us to tell you that this wine’s ageing potential is about 3-5 years. So, it’s your decision.
If you enjoy Dão wines, you’ll quickly recognise the region’s characteristic taste. If you’re not familiar with them, you’re in for a great surprise.
Lastly, we want to ask a favour. A small one!
Take a photo of your Mystery Box and send it through Whatsapp to a friend.
Tell them how the experience is going and explain what they have to do to get one sent to their home in a few days.
Would that be ok? Thank you!
Cheers!
