Quinta de Arcossó
16.00 €
In Portugal’s far-away north, in Ribeira de Oura, between Vidago and Chaves (Trás-os-Montes region), you’ll find a unique location for wine production – the Quinta do Arcossó estate.
The region’s wine production tradition dates back to pre-Roman times. This means that the granite that is predominant in these soils has seen many grapes born over many, many years.
It’s a region where the climatic differences during the year are more pronounced, with this type of weather’s harshness originating grapevines that are more resistant and grapes of a higher quality.
It’s that old expression “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger” in action in its most natural state.
Here, wine is produced in the most artisanal way possible and with a low-intervention oenology led by the oenologists Francisco Montenegro and Amílcar Salgado.
It would, after all, be a crime to waste such a long and rich legacy by producing wines the same as so many others.
The varieties used in this Reserve are typical in this region above the Douro: Tinta Amarela, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca.
A wine that fills the mouth and calls for a great conversation!
