Quinta da Fata is located in the demarcated region of Vinho do Dão, nestled between the Serra da Estrela and Serra do Caramulo mountains, and the Dão and Mondego rivers. Its gentle southern slope offers sunny exposure that benefits the wine. Besides the vineyard, the estate features lush gardens, expansive lawns, and forest. Among the many trees, a towering century-old lime tree, along with the tower housing the old water tank, makes the estate recognizable from afar.

The house of Quinta da Fata, built at the end of the 19th century using regional granite, was expanded in the 1960s and remodeled in 1991. Quinta da Fata is located near the village of Vilar Seco, in the municipality of Nelas, the heart of the Vinhos do Dão. Visitors to Nelas can find the monument ‘To the Wine Steward, for good service,’ which honors the profession and reflects the importance given in the region to wine and its quality. It was erected by Dr. Eurico Amaral, the wine producer and owner of Quinta da Fata, and father of the current owners, when he was the President of the Tourist Board of Caldas da Felgueira.

Dr. Eurico Amaral was one of the founders and the first member of the Nelas Cooperative Winery, the first in the region. The vineyard of Quinta da Fata was replanted in 1999, considering the needs for modernization and current production capabilities, where the most representative grape varieties of the Dão Region are grown: Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Alfrocheiro, Jaen, and Encruzado. These are planted in granitic soil, producing wines characteristic of the region, between the altitude of the mountain and the aromas of the surrounding forests.

Quinta da Fata wine continues to be produced on the estate since its inception in 1958, using traditional methods, with fermentation in granite vats and aging in oak barrels, resulting in wines that can be characterized by their elegant complexity.

Eurico Ponces Amaral is the grandson of the founder of this estate, who delighted us with stories of old times and was honored as Producer of the Year in 2017 by the Revista de Vinhos magazine.

Estágio em barricas de carvalho Francês e Americano durante 6 meses. Teve apenas estabilização natural e uma ligeira filtração final de modo a manter todo o seu potencial. Pode ganhar depósito durante o envelhecimento em garrafa.

Notas de Prova
Vinho estruturado,com frescura e concentrado na cor e aromas, onde sobressai a fruta vermelha madura, alguma fruta negra, associada a algumas notas tostadas. Vinho com final persistente e harmonioso.

Servir com
Consumir a uma temperatura de 18º a 20º, a acompanhar carne, caça e queijos fortes.
