Dona Sancha Tinto
Dona Sancha (Madam Sancha) lives peacefully in Silgueiros, near Viseu. The Estate, that is.
According to history, it was here that in 1186 Daganel do Loureiro and Dona Sancha Gonçalves had the Santa Maria de Silgueiros parish established. That was almost 900 years ago.
It’s no surprise, therefore, that this project is one that wishes to respect history, the ancestors, tradition and this blessed land.
As for the wine, it’s a great surprise.
With a strong ripe fruit aroma, as dark as the night that keeps the vineyard, that’s how the wine starts to conquer you. Through the nose.
After this, we have to talk to you about the unmistakable aroma of the fruit trees that grow on the Estate, sheltered from Nature’s humour and the circumstances of life.
In the mouth, it tastes of grapes that full of age and soul.
The conclusion is simple: this can only be a Dão wine.
You can feel the unmistakable taste of wood to which the softness of silk is added. This wine hits with a simplicity and softness that disarms you and makes you want to lean against the back of the chair, the wall, a doorframe… anything will do as long as it allows us to inhale and let out an: “ahhhhhhh… what a beautiful life!”
It’s as if you get invaded by a very soothing sensation that is very hard to resist. An interior peace and calm that only good wines bring.
You know what we mean, right?
This is why we feel we have been very lucky over the last months.
To have the privilege of tasting so many wines with this quality is a feeling that’s hard to convey in words, even for someone who’s job it is to do so. Portugal really is a wonderful country.
Well, enough chit-chat.
Go get the frappe and let the wine rest in there for about an hour.
After that, all you have to do is open the bottle and register that moment.
Cheers from your friends at Wome.
