The history of this 600-hectare estate located on the south bank of the Tagus River in the municipality of Alpiarça dates back to the 14th century, specifically to the year 1346, when it was known as Quinta da Goucha and Atela and was owned by D. Afonso Telo de Menezes, Count of Ourém and Barcelos, son-in-law of D. Nuno Álvares Pereira. Later, it was donated to the religious order of the Convent of Graça in Santarém.

At the end of the 20th century, the estate was purchased by Isidoro Maria de Oliveira, founder of Izidoro Sausages. However, after the April 25th Revolution in 1974, it was occupied for about a decade before being restored to its former owners.

In 2017, it was acquired by its current owners, Anabela Tereso and Fernando Vicente, associated with Agropecuária Valgrupo. Today, it has been completely reinvigorated, with the entire mansion restored and the entire range of wines reformulated.

In addition to this Gewurztraminer, they grow other grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Fernão Pires, Sauvignon Blanc, Arinto, Pinot Noir, Trincadeira Preta, Alicante Bouschet, Aragonez, Syrah, Touriga Nacional, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, and Castelão.

The cultivation of the vines is carried out using the latest technology, with simple and sustainable oenology to produce balanced and elegant wines, always respecting the environment.

With a very characteristic terroir, Quinta da Atela produces unmistakable and elegant wines, with the perfect balance to become unforgettable.

Beyond a unique range of wines, it boasts one of the most beautiful wine tourism spaces in the region, offering unique experiences to its visitors that combine wine culture with tourism, housing, and events. This effort and dedication were recognized in 2022 when Quinta da Atela was awarded the best Wine Tourism in the Tejo.

Vinha com cerca de 20 anos de idade, instalada em solos arenosos de “charneca” pobres e bem drenados.

VINIFICAÇÃO
Este vinho fermentou em pequenas cubas de inox à temperatura de 15°C após maceração.

NOTAS DE PROVA
Apresenta-se com cor citina e aromas intensos de cidreira, lichias e flor de lima (citrinos), algumas notas de menta com boca fresca, equilibrada e
untuosa, revela alguma complexidade final.
