Prepare to open your house to a Sir of a wine.
After all, this wine was born on an estate that is almost 300 years old. That’s right. 300 years of age!

The former house at the Lagar de Fuso e Vara, in Alenquer, gave origin to the Quinta do Lagar Novo in 1742. Precisely 280 years ago.

The estate was bought by the Elias Gonçalves de Carvalho family around 1940 and is now part of the heritage of one of the family’s second and third generational branches.

It’s a small property with a grape and wine production history, developed throughout more than 200 harvests (don’t forget it’s almost 300 years old!).

For all this, you can expect consistency from this wine, the assuredness of those who know what they’re doing, an involving freshness, and contrasting citrus flavours. In all, it’s the perfect guest for a great weekend lunch on one of those days in which the sun starts to warm you, promising the arrival of Spring.

Luís Carvalho, other than being the owner at Quinta do Lagar Novo, is also the attentive supervisor and dedicated guide for all the estate’s production.

Supporting him are his sons Tiago in the oenology department, João in the winemaking process, and Helena, responsible for brand design.

All this family involvement makes us believe that this family’s dedication is directly related to the marvellous liquid inside this bottle.

Appellation: Lisbon/Bucelas/Colares
Style: White
Varieties: Viognier
Ageing: 7 months in stainless-steel vats.

Winemaking process: Total destemming, cold decantation during 48 hrs. Gentle pressing. Fermented with indigenous yeasts (from our vineyard) in stainless-steel vats at 13-15°C.

Tasting Notes: A balanced wine with great acidity. Citrus in colour. Aromas of white fruit and ripe citrus.

Serving/Pairing: Serve at 10-12°C
